Day 3 Roadtrip SW

Canyonlands National Park

Ever have one of those days when everything seems right in the world? Driving through nature, your beautiful wife next to you, baby in the womb, a good cup of coffee, David Crowder playing on the stero? That was my day yesterday, one of those times when life seems complete. We drove about 30 minutes to Canyonlands National Park. When we planned our trip we knew about Arches, but Canyonlands was a pleasent surprise. It is a huge park (bigger than Arches) only about 1/3 of the park is accesible by road from the north so we went to "Island in the Sky". After many viewpoints, trails, canyons, arches, and one menancing bird at our picnic, we returned to our hotel to grab an early dinner, then back to arches to see the sunset and the stars! Thank you Lord for a day to remember.

Day 2 Roadtrip SW

Arches National Park
We got up this morning had our free breakfast at our Super8 Hotel and headed off for the red rocks of Arches N.P. It is amazing to see God's creativity in nature. From giant spires of rock, leaning towers, balanced rocks, arches, fields of red rocks, and much much more. We took some pictures, headed back to town to grab subway, recharge the camera, and then it was off again to see more of the park. It is absolutely huge! After lots of hiking, (Tifani with baby in the oven, hiking was very impressive!) we went back to hotel, grabbed a nap, then met Sean and Jen from bible study at the Moab Brewery. All in all a great day!

Day 1 Roadtrip SW

Colorado Springs, Colorado to Moab, Utah.
Distance: 400 Miles Approx Travel Time: 7.5 Hours

Well after driving for 7.5 hours (had to stop for Sonic!) through the mountains of Colorado, we arrived in Utah only to be greeted by 60 mph winds and tumbleweeds as big as queen size beds. It was like Frogger driving and dodging the mighty tumbleweeds, and min sand storms. Moab is amazingly beautiful. It is like Garden of the Gods in Co. Springs only 100 times bigger! We ate dinner at Zax's restaurant and had the all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar. It was spendy but we feel we got our moneys worth after multiple trips to the pizza bar. We ran into Sean and Jen from our Bible Study at the restuarant, what a coincidence. We took a mini tour at sundown of the beginning of Arches National Park. We are looking forward to a day of hiking and picture taking tomorrow in the park. It is insanely beautiful (like my wife). Baby Bronson has enjoyed the trip as well. He has been good for the most part, kicking mommy's tummy only once this morning. Overall he is enjoying the experience. We can't wait (ok we can wait 3 more months so he is fully cooked) for him to come join us!

and we're off....

Spring Break has finally arrived!!! =0) and we are off... with our Rav4 piled high with food, drinks, clothes, books, music and everything we need to make for a great roadtrip... traveling the beautiful Southwestern states! Points of highlight.... Moab and the Red-Rocks! Rachael & Cody's place! Vegas! Grand Canyon! and Albuquerque! We will try our best to update every day and share some of our travel journeys with you all! =0)
