build spiritual movements in the hearts of people around the world.
Just this past week Rob had the opportunity to attend the Oregon State, Boise State, and University of Wisconsin wrestling dual. While there he was able to spend some time with his friend, Scott, an Athletes in Action (AIA) staff member. While talking with him a former U of O wrestler, who now coaches high school, came up to Scott and introduced himself. He had been in Scott’s small group for a week long camp with AIA in Fort Collins, CO seven years ago. It was great to hear him share how much that time changed his life, and how he was using what he learned at that camp in his life, coaching and wrestling. It was amazing to see the joy and excitement he had in talking about a short one week camp and how it had impacted his life.
What a great reminder this encounter was. God is using the sport of wrestling to build spiritual movements in the hearts of people around the world! He is asking us to be a part of this very movement! What an encouragement this has been for us as we press on towards our call to join AIA staff & be a part of planning overseas tours, and camps just like the one Scott’s friend had attended when he was in college.
This story also reminds us of another aspect of wrestling that we appreciate, the tight-knit community. Here Rob was with a friend from Wisconsin, who he had traveled to Guatemala and Nicaragua with on an AIA tour, talking with a former high school wrestler Rob coached against. Despite all the differences they have there are two things that unite them, their experience with AIA and wrestling! Wrestling brings people together, from different social circles, economic statuses, & cultures.
Wrestling opens doors that might otherwise stay closed, for example doors into countries that may never have the opportunity to hear about salvation & new life in Christ, doors into the lives of people who have been looking for someone to see value in them. God is using the sport of wrestling to build spiritual movements in the hearts of people around the world!

Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC)
New Staff Training
In September we traveled to Florida for new staff training. We were excited to hear the many ways God is using the ministry of CCC! We discovered that there are many branches of CCC, from campus, family, inner-city, music, film, international ministries & more. Pictured above with the co-founder of CCC, Vonette Bright, are the families we met who are also joining Athletes in Action. It was such a blessing to meet other families on this same journey & to be able to encourage each other as we trust God & step out in faith to work with AIA. We are committed to praying for each other as we look to God to provide our team of partners & bring us to our places of ministry in His timing! We continue to communicate with this team two times a month & what a support they have been for us.
