Longing for a day outside my wonderful wife and I went for a picnic at Fox Run Park. Only 15 minutes away it is a great little place for hiking, biking, and eating lunch. We choose eating lunch due to the snow and the cold. Weather is warm except for the wind chill, but armed with our new under armour from Mommy Dale we headed out for an afternoon of fun, food, and later football (at home of course).

Christmas Trip 08
our Christmas trip to Oregon started with an unexpected trip to San Fransisco. Portland airport was completely shut down and so our flight from Denver was canceled. =( The next flight out would have been 3 days later, so instead we opted to fly to SanFran and drive north to Oregon! What an adventure it was... we got to eat an In-N-Out so that was a plus! Chains were required to get over the pass and since we didn't have any in the rental car we drove over to the coast and went the rest of the way on HWY101. It was actually a beautiful drive! We met my parents in Bandon for a couple of days of "retreat" with them. Brandon and Josie were supposed to hopefully be joining us, but sadly because of the ice/snow in Portland only Brandon was able to come down, and a day late at that. =( but we still made the best out of it and had a great time together! Then we traveled to Roseburg and spent Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and a few more days with the family there! Josie was finally able to come down and join us the day after Christmas! We spent most of our times playing games, watching football, cooking, and watching the boys golf! Overall it was a great time and such a blessing to be able to be together as a family!! =0)

Christmas in CO
We have had "many" days of "white Christmases" so far! =0) in addition to that we have been trying to take in and enjoy some other Christmas traditions/festivities! We got our Christmas tree! and decorated it with ornaments from the Philippines (i was amazed by how many ornaments i already have... think we will have to put up multiple trees to ever use them all)

We also went downtown for the "Parade of Lights" mainly to watch Rob's kiddos play in the marching band... we thought for sure we would freeze because we did last year in Salem and it is so much colder here... but we had a beautiful day and it was actually not too cold! =0) We also saw some great floats! This one is for Chic-fil-a... they had people in cow costumes singing and dancing to the "Chicken dance" haha... it was hilarious!

And... I bought Rob a snoopy puzzle! So we worked on that together! And success we completed it!! =0)

SNOW DAY!!!

Let it snow let it snow
We returned from the beautiful northwest to hit a good ole fashioned mid-west blizzard! In the course of 24 hours we got almost a foot of snow at our apartment! What did that earn us? Only a 2 hour delay for school. Personally I was concerned for my student's safety and think we should have had the whole day off! In typical Colorado fashion it was 70 degrees two days later, and now it has returned to the low 20's and high chance of snow. On the positive side it is really sunny and defiantly a change from the northwest.
