Day 8 Roadtrip SW

Las Vegas, NV to Flagstaff, AZ
Distance: 260 miles Time: 5 hours

We left Vegas this morning and headed to Flagstaff, along the famous Route 66. Changed plans a little as Tif wasn't feeling good, so we will see the Grand Canyon tomorrow. We have had a great time but are getting ready to be back home again. The southwest is really cool, we didn't know that our route actually has a name the Grand Circle. only a few more days so we are excited to see one of Americas greatest natural wonders, stay in a nice notel in New Mexico and then head home!

Day 7 Roadtrip SW

St. George, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada
Distance: 115 Miles Time: 2 Hours

We packed up the car, headed out after a quick Starbucks stop, and were off to Vegas. The drive was nice, unexpectedly traveled through part of Arizona (didn't get lost just didn't know we cut through the northwest corner of AZ), saw an off road race in the desert off of I-15, and entered Nevada and then Las Vegas. Overall neither of us are Vegas types, but we did really enjoy laying by the pool, reading, watching a movie (Mrs. Congeniality), and then driving the strip to see the lights, and dinner at Macaroni Grill.

Day 6 Roadtrip SW

St. George, Utah

We spent the day hanging with the baby and checking out the sights and sounds of St. George. Picked up a coffee table book about Utah, hit In-N-Out Burger and then went to friends of Rachael and Cody's to watch the overly dramatic movie Twilight (every jr. high girls dream). Pretty chill day, heading to Vegas tomorrow!

Day 5 Roadtrip SW

Moab, Utah to St. George, Utah
Distance: 400 Miles Time: 6 Hours

Our time in Moab has ended and we are now on to the next leg of our journey. We really enjoyed our time in the red rocks area of southeastern Utah but are now headed to the other corner of the state to St. George. We will spend 2 days with Tifani's friends Rachael, Cody, and baby Lily! We had to drive through about 3 hours of snow in the mountains in central Utah. Utah is a very pretty state and really diverse in its weather and nature. We arrived in St. George and were excited to spend time with friends and meet the new little one!

Arches National Park

Entrance to park $10, Gas $10, Subway Club Sandwich $5, VitaRain drinks from Costco $1, Hiking 3 miles up hill to see Delicate Arch one of the worlds most famous arches with your wonderful wife after a picnic...Priceless

Went to dinner at Eddie McStiffs had portabello penne, and a Mediterranean plate appitizer, complete with a small scoop of ice cream. Met one of my old roommates and coaching buddies and his girlfriend at the Moab Dinner for ice cream sundays (they were huge!), and most importantly I got to feel Baby Bronson kick for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 3 Roadtrip SW

Canyonlands National Park

Ever have one of those days when everything seems right in the world? Driving through nature, your beautiful wife next to you, baby in the womb, a good cup of coffee, David Crowder playing on the stero? That was my day yesterday, one of those times when life seems complete. We drove about 30 minutes to Canyonlands National Park. When we planned our trip we knew about Arches, but Canyonlands was a pleasent surprise. It is a huge park (bigger than Arches) only about 1/3 of the park is accesible by road from the north so we went to "Island in the Sky". After many viewpoints, trails, canyons, arches, and one menancing bird at our picnic, we returned to our hotel to grab an early dinner, then back to arches to see the sunset and the stars! Thank you Lord for a day to remember.

Day 2 Roadtrip SW

Arches National Park
We got up this morning had our free breakfast at our Super8 Hotel and headed off for the red rocks of Arches N.P. It is amazing to see God's creativity in nature. From giant spires of rock, leaning towers, balanced rocks, arches, fields of red rocks, and much much more. We took some pictures, headed back to town to grab subway, recharge the camera, and then it was off again to see more of the park. It is absolutely huge! After lots of hiking, (Tifani with baby in the oven, hiking was very impressive!) we went back to hotel, grabbed a nap, then met Sean and Jen from bible study at the Moab Brewery. All in all a great day!
