Agnes Vaille Falls

Day 2 of camping and we decided to go for a few hikes. Our camp site is at 8000 ft. above sea level so we headed even higher to take a look at a water fall near Nathrop, Colorado at about 9,200 ft. It is a beautiful area, our road cut right thru the pass of 2 mountains. We took a short hike up to the Falls. It was a cool hike with some informative signs on the way explaining the wildlife of the area as well as some of the history of the falls. We both were rather sad that we didn't pay more attention in science class as we would love to know more about the geology of the area. "Wow look at that rock! What kind of rock is it? I don't know a rock?" We then headed back to the car to move out to our next hike!

Buena Vista

Since summer is so short for us with the move and school starting early, we decided to take a little mini vacation and go camping in the Collegiate Mountains near Beuna Vista, Colorado. It was about a 90 minute drive down highway 24 thru Manitou and Woodland Park. We stayed at Arrowhead Point a nice little campground, although our site was awfully close to our neighbors. We set up our tent (thanks Haddens!) and unloaded the car, realized we had no pillows and had to drive 30 miles to find a store that had some :)

We like to move it, move it...

We headed to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for an afternoon of fun. It is an amazing zoo, set at 6800 ft. at the base of the Rocky Mountains, and NORAD. We saw animals from Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas! They have many exhibits where you are inches away from the animals, world famous Giraffes, and some animals that roam the zoo. It was a great afternoon of viewing many of God's creations!

Little bit of everything

Headed to Palmer Park, a large park in the middle of town. We got a little lost (including a call to Dalequest), a little sunburned, and had a lot of fun!!! We then spent the 4th with the Spauldings. Played ping pong, ate some good barbque, Went to the Air Force Academy for fireworks, then back for an intense game of Hoopla!

10 min North of our home is this beautiful park and trail! We discovered it this past weekend with a family Tif knew in the Philippines and went back this afternoon to explore the trail! The park included 5 miles of trail, a wedding gazebo on a lake, wildlife, grass fields, and so much more! The pics only capture a fraction of what we actually saw and experienced! Enjoy!
